In a national economic landscape marked by a significant increase in disinvestment, Andalusia is emerging as an increasingly attractive and reliable destination for foreign capital. The President of the Andalusian Regional Government, Juanma Moreno, will lead the next May 26th at the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid the day 'Andalusia, where it all begins'This event, organized by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and European Funds through Andalucía TRADE, has as its main objective to expose the capabilities and competitive advantages of the autonomous community to investment agents and prescribers, revealing the niche opportunities offered by the region.
The data supports this investment offensive: Andalusia is experiencing its best time to attract foreign investment. During 2024, the community counted 837 millones de euros in foreign direct investment, according to the Official Investment Registry. This figure represents a impressive growth of 41% compared to 595 million in 2023, exceeding the average growth in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Spain (22%) by 19 percentage points. This is the second-best figure for Andalusia in the last decade, behind only the historic record of 2022, and exceeding the annual average of the last ten years (20 million) by 696%.
A key indicator of the trust generated is the significant drop in divestments in the region. While in Spain as a whole, divestments grew an alarming 98,4% in 2024 compared to the previous year, reaching €14.056 billion, in Andalusia fell by 21%, standing at just 68 million. This suggests that foreign investors arriving in Andalusia are doing so with a permanent focus.
During the event in Madrid, which will also be attended by the Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds and President of Andalucía TRADE, Caroline Spain, will be revealed Andalusia Sales NotebookThis is a novel tool that compiles essential strategic information about the region: from economic data, infrastructure, and business fabric, to education, the labor market, and the competitive advantages that make Andalusia a preferred investment destination.
