Andalucía TRADE, the public agency for foreign promotion of the Junta de Andalucía, has organized a showroom of Andalusian agri-food products in Osaka, Japan, with the participation of 47 community companies. The event, which took place on October 31 at the Hilton hotel in Osaka, brought together 185 professionals from the Japanese horeca and gourmet sector.
The objective of the action has been to promote Andalusian products in the Japanese market, which broke export record in 2022, with sales of 164 million euros. The Japanese market is a destination of opportunity for Andalusian companies, since it has 128 million potential consumers who are increasingly interested in Western cuisine and Andalusian products.

In the showroom, Andalusian companies presented their products to professionals related to the hospitality sector, gourmet stores, department stores and opinion leaders from various local media. Likewise, commercial strategies were defined and various business agreements were closed.
The 47 Andalusian firms participating in the showroom come mainly from the province of Cádiz (28). Companies from Córdoba, Málaga, Jaén, Almería, Huelva and Seville have also participated.
According to reports from Andalucía TRADE, the Andalusian agri-food basket is increasingly attractive in the Japanese market. The star product is olive oil, which represents 60% of exports to this destination. This is followed by meat and edible offal, fish and crustaceans and vegetable preparations.
Regarding the provinces, Seville It is the sales leader in the Japanese market, with 39% of the Andalusian total. They follow him Málaga, Cádiz and Córdoba.
