In an effort to boost internationalization of the Andalusian frozen food sector, Andalucía TRADE organized a prominent business meeting on January 21 and 22 within the framework of the Frozen & Fresh Market, celebrated in Seville Congress and Exhibition Palace (Fibes). This initiative had the participation of eleven Andalusian companies that developed more than thirty interviews with international agents from United Kingdom, Italy and Portugal.
The main objective was to highlight the value of frozen agri-food products to European buyers. The fair brought together manufacturers, distributors, retail chains, restaurant brands and end consumers. In addition, international representatives visited two local companies to explore business opportunities.
Andalucía stands out as a world power in the agri-food sector. In the first eleven months of 2024, exports reached a historic record of 14.368 million euros, representing a year-on-year growth of 15,6%. This increase is significantly higher than the national average of 6,4%, consolidating Andalusia as the national leader with 21,7% of the Spanish total.
The figures reflect significant territorial cohesion within the Andalusian agri-food foreign sector. All eight provinces experienced growth in their sales during this period. Jaén leads this increase with an impressive 56%, while Seville consolidates its position as the leading province in exports.
Success is also due to significant geographical diversification: exports have grown to key markets outside Europe such as United States (+ 47%), China (+41%) and Australia (+116%). Within the European continent, Germany, It remains the main destination followed by France and Italy.
The organization was co-financed by European funds under the FEDER Andalusia Operational Program 2021-2027. This action underlines the regional commitment to consolidate its global leadership in frozen products and strengthen its food industry through strategic business relationships.
