High-level meetings and strategic visits
The participating wineries have held up to 36 high-level meetings with Japanese importers, establishing contacts of interest to develop possible business agreements or strengthen existing ones.

The public agency Andalucía TRADE has organized a complete commercial agenda in Tokyo for five Andalusian wineries, with the aim of making known the excellence of Andalusian wines to a market with enormous potential such as the Japanese, which has 125 million potential consumers.
The participating wineries have held up to 36 high-level meetings with Japanese importers, establishing contacts of interest to develop possible business agreements or strengthen existing ones. In addition, they have visited different points of sale in the Japanese capital and have been received by the counselor of the Spanish Commercial Office in Japan, Fernando Hernández Jiménez-Casquet.
Andalusian wine exports in January 2024 amounted to 5,8 million euros, with a growth of 0,1%. Cádiz is the main exporting province, with 4 million euros (69% of the total)
Andalusian wineries have also had the opportunity to participate in the first edition of the fair ProWine Tokyo, a reference event in the wine sector that brings together the main wineries in the world, as well as importers, experts and specialized press.
Japan is presented as a market of great opportunity for Andalusian wine, since it is the third largest economy in the world and the most important in Asia. The Japanese consumer appreciates quality, has refined tastes and seeks differentiated products, characteristics that perfectly define wines with Denomination of Origin of Jerez or Málaga.
Andalucía TRADE It will continue to develop actions to support Andalusian wineries in the Japanese market, such as the "X Meeting of Wine and Brandy Buyers in Jerez de la Frontera" (May 24-27).
