The president of the Junta of Andalusia, Juanma Moreno, has presided over the ceremony of delivery of the 16th Alas Awards for the Internationalization of the Andalusian Company, Organized by Andalusia TRADE-Business Agency for Transformation and Economic Development, which was held at the Casa Colón de Huelva.
The president of the Junta de Andalucía was accompanied, among other authorities, by the Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds, and president of Andalucía TRADE, Caroline Spain, by the Minister of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, loles lopez; by the mayor of Huelva, Pilar Miranda; the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Huelva, Daniel Toscano; and the president of the Huelva Provincial Council, David Toscano.
Fresón de Palos, from Huelva; Unica Fresh, from Almería; Puma Group, from Córdoba; CoverManager, from Seville; Freepik Company, from Malaga; and the Bahía de Algeciras Port Authority (Cádiz) have been the winners of awards that have been held since 2001, and in this sixteenth edition they have reached a record number of nominations, with 223 submitted.
The heads of entities have collected their award in an event in which the work of the 32 finalist companies chosen by the juries of the eight provinces and, in general, by all the export companies in the community, for the contribution they make to growth and job creation in Andalucía.
The act of Wings Awards, presented by the Granada tenor José Manuel Zapata, culminated in this edition with the presentation of the image and main lines of action and budgets of Andalusia TRADE, Business Agency for Transformation and Development, of the Government of Andalusia, which integrates all policies for business promotion, innovation, knowledge transfer, internationalization and attraction of investments from the Andalusian Government. An entity that will make different subsidies and financial instruments available to companies that will total 900 million euros until 2027.
The delivery of the Alas Awards recognizes the work of Andalusian companies until 2022, a year in which Andalusia reached a historical record in exports since comparable data exists (1995) accounting for 42.958 million euros; with a growth of 24,3%. In 2023, a year marked throughout the world by the decline in trade exchanges, mainly due to high inflation and tensions in the prices of industrial and energy raw materials and the drought, Andalusia presents its second best export record until July (last month counted), with 22.744 million.

Six winners in different categories
The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, was in charge of presenting the award International career, in the 'Company' category, to Joaquín Infante, CEO of the Huelva cooperative SCA Santa María La Rábida, Fresón de Palos. And in the mode of 'Entity' supporting internationalization was the Bay of Algeciras Port Authority (APBA) the winner and its president, Gerardo Landaluce, who collected the award from the Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds and president of Andalucía TRADE, Carolina España.
In the category of Implantation abroad, was the advisor of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality, Loles López, who presented the award to Francisco Javier Ortega Verdugo, director of the Córdoba company Corporación Empresarial Grupo Puma.

In the International Ecommerce category, it was the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Huelva, Daniel Toscano, who presented the award to the Director of Operations of Freepik Company, Javier González Bernal; while, in the Export Initiation category, it was up to the mayor of Huelva, Pilar Miranda, to present the award to the CEO & Co-founder of the firm CoverManager Restaurant Booking-Distribution Services, José Antonio Pérez.
Alas Awards: 16th edition
The Alas Awards are developed in a participatory process in which in this edition a record of participation has been reached, with 223 applications submitted to the four categories that choose finalists: Export Initiation, International Ecommerce, Export Company and Foreign Implementation.
