La Junta of Andalusia and the Government of Japan have intensified their collaboration in the green hydrogen sector with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Andalusian Hydrogen Cluster and the JETRO agency. The agreement, which has been signed within the framework of a trade mission organized by the Japanese Government, opens the door to the joint development of projects, technology transfer, research and commercialization of green hydrogen solutions.
Opportunities for the green economy
The Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, Jorge Paradela, highlighted that this agreement “is a testament to our shared vision” and that “it opens the door to business opportunities, new investments and job creation.” Paradela has stressed that Andalusia, as a European power in green molecules, provides “abundant renewable resources, a strategic location, a solid port infrastructure and a thriving ecosystem of talent, innovation and industrial demand.”
Business meeting
Within the framework of the trade mission, Andalusian and Japanese companies in the green hydrogen sector held a work day in which they were able to establish business contacts and explore possible collaborations. The participating Andalusian companies have been Ansasol, AICIA, GEUMA, Ayesa Ingeniería, Clan Tecnológica and H2B2 Electrolysis Technologies.
Support for internationalisation
The Ministry of Economy, Finance and European Funds, through Andalusia TRADE, has promoted the participation of Andalusian companies in this trade mission. The initiative is part of the support that the Junta de Andalucía offers to the internationalization of the green hydrogen sector, an area in which Andalusia is positioning itself as a global reference.
Next steps
The Japanese delegation will visit the I National Green Hydrogen Congress held in Huelva from February 7 to 9. The Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines will be present at the Congress with an exhibitor and Andalucía TRADE has organized a trade mission in which companies and entities linked to hydrogen from 12 countries participate.
