ANFAC, SERNAUTO and the main cities in the automotive sector come together to promote the Spanish industry

A new actor has arrived on the scene of the Spanish automotive sector: the Group Association of Spanish Cities of the Automotive and Components Sector (ACEAC). This association, formed by the municipalities that host the main vehicle and component factories in the country, was created with the aim of defending the interests of these areas before European and national institutions.

 

The ACEAC held its first Institutional Work Day, in which it met with the associations ANFAC and SERNAUTO, representing vehicle manufacturers and component suppliers, respectively. In this meeting, the priority issues for the sector were addressed in view of the mandate of the new European Commission, such as the transition to electric vehicles, public aid and industrial competitiveness.

 

A voice for the municipalities of the sector

 

The creation of the ACEAC responds to the need for the municipalities that host the automotive industry to have their own voice in decision-making. Until now, these municipalities did not have a common platform to defend their interests, which left them at a disadvantage when negotiating with institutions.

 

The municipalities integrated into the ACEAC represent an important economic force. Between them, they generate more than 45.000 direct jobs in the automotive industry and another 180.000 indirect jobs. This figure highlights the importance of this sector for the local economy of these areas.

 

A promising future

 

The ACEAC has been received with great interest by other relevant municipalities in the sector. In fact, the association has already received four new membership applications and hopes to reach 20 members before the end of the year.

 

ACEAC's objectives are ambitious. The association wants to work to maintain Spain as an industrial power in the automotive sector, defend the strategic importance of this sector for the Spanish economy and participate in the construction of a sustainable future for the industry.

 

The ACEAC has all the tools to achieve its objectives. It has the support of the main players in the sector, a broad territorial representation and a solid vision of the future. Without a doubt, this new association will be a key player in shaping the future of the Spanish automotive industry.
