Ángel Asensio leads the opening of the III CIAM-CIAR Working Group Meeting

El Madrid International Arbitration Centre (CIAM-CIAR) inaugurated its third Meeting of Working Groups at the historic Santoña Palace, a two-day event designed to foster dialogue and innovation in the field of international arbitrationÁngel Asensio, president of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services, opened the event by highlighting the importance of collaboration between institutions and companies in this sector.

El CIAM-CIAR, promoted by the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, envisions these meetings as crucial spaces for international arbitration experts to discuss the challenges and trends affecting various industries. The main objective is to exchange experiences, identify users' specific needs, and propose innovative solutions that strengthen and adapt the arbitration services offered by the organization.

Over the two-day event, thematic panels addressed current issues in sectors such as energy, forensics, corporate law, sports and entertainment, the digital economy and intellectual property, insurance, construction and engineering, and investment and arbitration with states. Lawyers, arbitrators, experts, and other renowned professionals presented case studies, analyzed specific issues, and discussed the application of new tools and methodologies in dispute resolution.

A Space for Innovation and Collaboration

In his opening address, Ángel Asensio emphasized that this meeting goes beyond being a simple congress, describing it as a "space for dialogue and collaboration between institutions, law firms, and businesses." He highlighted CIAM-CIAR's commitment to listening to and adapting to the specific needs of each sector, guaranteeing the highest quality service.

Asensio also underlined the dedication of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce to stay at the forefront of international best practicesespecially in promoting conflict resolution methods that meet business needs. He emphasized the particular focus on the Ibero-American sphere, where they share a common language and legal culture, concluding that it is "our responsibility as actors in the business world to know and refine the most efficient mechanisms for resolving these disagreements."

At the opening ceremony, Asensio was accompanied by prominent figures such as Jose Maria Alonso, from CIAM-CIAR; Inmaculada Sánchez-Cervera, general coordinator of the mayor's office of the Madrid City Council; Daniel Rodriguez Asensio, from the Ministry of Economy and Employment of the Community of Madrid; and Susana Sumelzo, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
