Antonio Garamendi, president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), has assumed the pro tempore presidency of the Council of Ibero-American Entrepreneurs (CEIB) at an event held in Ecuador basin, within the framework of the XV Ibero-American Business Meeting.
Garamendi recalled that at the last Summit in the Dominican Republic, business leaders in the region made a commitment to growth and investment in Latin America.
In his inaugural address, Garamendi thanked his predecessors and pledged to continue the drive for investment and growth in Ibero-America. In addition, he announced a new line of work focused on youth employability: “In this edition we have decided to launch a new line of work focused on youth employability, undoubtedly a pressing challenge, which will allow us to continue working on this highly relevant issue.”
The CEOE president also stressed the importance of creating an environment of trust to encourage investment, emphasizing the need for “strong democracies, with legal security, regulatory stability and quality of the norm, to work in freedom, with inclusion and more middle classes.” He also underlined the importance of public-private collaboration to strengthen the economic development of the region.
