The 73 port terminals that are part of the global network of APM Terminals, among them five Spanish (Algeciras, Barcelona, ​​Castellón, Gijón and Valencia), they will organize workshops, screening of informative videos and talks throughout the day that will revolve around risk management.

 

To APM Terminals, the safety of the people inside the terminal is not only a matter of commitment, but also represents its license to operate in ports in 69 countries. That is why the eleventh edition of the Global Safety Day will place special emphasis on taking precautionary measures at any time of the day, since all time slots are critical: in the morning there is more activity, but the terminals allocate resources in line with the volume of work, and at night there is less activity , but the level of visibility may be reduced if the necessary measures are not taken.

 

“Safety is a pillar of APM Terminals and we all contribute to it from our jobs,” he declares. We have identified the four highest risk activities in a terminal: Human-machine interaction, work at height, suspended loads and stored energy. On Cantabrian Sea, APM Terminals Gijón It will also carry out an evacuation drill at heights and activate the Emergency Plan in the port facility. The test will be preceded by various conferences.
