The first investments of the Co-investment Fund approved to boost the Spanish economy

 

El Interministerial Technical Committee on Investments of the Co-investment Fund (FOCO) has given the green light to the first investments aimed at promoting the green and digital transition in Spain. These initiatives add up to a total of 220 millones de euros and will be carried out in collaboration with funds managed by Azora Management, Eurazeus y hy24. These operations are expected to attract at least double the amount of foreign investment, that is, about 440 millones de euros, aimed at Spanish companies.

 

The Secretary of State for Commerce, Amparo López Senovilla, highlighted: “Through these operations, we reaffirm Spain's commitment to attracting foreign investment to promote the modernization of our production model”. For her part, the president and CEO of COFIDES, Angela Perez, added: “These are the first operations approved for an innovative instrument that is a catalyst for the modernisation of the Spanish economy”.
 

 

Amparo López Senovilla stated: “Through these operations, we reaffirm Spain’s commitment to attracting foreign investment to boost the modernization of our production model.”

 

 

Approved investments include a 50 million stake in the fund Azora European Climate Solutions Fund, focused on solutions to decarbonize real assets; 150 million in the Eurazeo Growth Fund IV, focused on leading technology companies; and up to 20 million in the Clean Hydrogen Equipment Fund for projects related to low-carbon hydrogen.

 

The FOCO was created as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and has resources from the instrument NextGenerationEUWith a total planned allocation of 2.000 billion euros, it seeks to promote foreign investment aligned with the ecological and digital transitions.
