From March 5 to 9, Madrid will become the world capital of contemporary art with the celebration of the 44th edition of ARCOmadrid. The fair, organized by IFEMA MADRID, will bring together 214 galleries from 36 countries, consolidating its position as a space for dialogue, discovery and reflection on art. This year, the Amazon stands as the central axis of the fair, exploring new forms of artistic creation that fuse the human, the vegetal and the metaphysical.
ARCOmadrid 2025 will feature a diverse and enriching programme ranging from the General Programme, which brings together renowned national and international galleries, to curated sections that explore specific themes such as Latin American art and new galleries.
The General Program will feature the participation of prestigious Spanish galleries such as 1 Mira Madrid, Alarcón Criado, Elba Benítez and Elvira González, as well as international galleries from the likes of Thaddaeus Ropac, Jocelyn Wolff and Chantal Crousel.
In this edition, the Amazon will become the protagonist through the program "Wametisé: Ideas for an Amazonian Futurism," curated by Denilson Baniwa and María Wills. This program, which has the collaboration of the Institute for Postnatural Studies, will explore the new forms of artistic creation that arise from the interaction between the human, the plant, and the metaphysical in the Amazonian context.

With an exceptional selection of national and international galleries, the fair opens a broad dialogue between innovative proposals from the international scene.
The section "Opening. New galleries"It will once again be a space to discover the most innovative proposals from young national and international galleries. The selection by Cristina Anglada and Anissa Touati will bring together 18 galleries that are committed to new forms of artistic expression."
For its part, the section «Profiles | Latin American art"This will further strengthen the historical link between ARCOmadrid and Latin American art. Curator José Esparza Chong Cuy has conducted extensive research to present only one artist per gallery, offering a deep and diverse look at the current Latin American art scene."
In addition to the galleries and curated sections, ARCOmadrid 2025 will feature a programme of parallel activities including discussion forums, professional meetings and publication presentations. The Collecting Forum will bring together experts and collectors from around the world to discuss the challenges and opportunities of contemporary art collecting. Wametisé Forum will explore the fair's central theme through the participation of artists, curators and thinkers. And the Artists' Forum, organized by MAV Women in the Visual Arts, will give voice to women in the art world.
ARCOmadrid 2025 will also be a space to celebrate and recognise artistic creation through the presentation of various awards, such as the Lexus Award for Best Stand, the Cervezas Alhambra Arte Emergente Award and the ARCO/BEEP Award for Electronic Art.
