Seventy galleries from Australia, North Africa, America, Europe and Asia are participating.
From March 19 to 22, the Madinat Arena in Dubai will host the most important art fair in the country and the Middle East, born from the rapid development of contemporary art in the region in recent years. This year's edition of Art Dubai is more international than ever, featuring nearly seventy galleries from Australia, North Africa, the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Among them is Madrid-based Distrito Cuatro, the only Spanish gallery at the fair, which presented works by José Manuel Ballester, Pia Fries, Maider López, Richard Deacon, Art and Language, Adrian Schiess, and Peter Zimmermann.
The event's objective is to leave virtually no territory of the globe unrepresented and to bring the most prestigious galleries of the moment to Dubai.
From Europe, notable galleries include Aidan Gallery from Moscow, Continua from San Gimignano, Filomena Soares from Lisbon, and Chantal Crousel from Paris; and from the Americas, Diana Lowenstein from Miami and Bonni Benrubi from New York. However, only two galleries represent Dubai: Artspace and Green Art Gallery. Running concurrently with the fair is the city's International Financial Centre, hosting an exhibition that was previously a success at the British Museum in London: Word Into Art, which explores the importance of writing in modern Eastern art and will remain open until April 30.
