Southern Spain is establishing itself as a strategic hub for Indian technology companies. Two parallel initiatives, led by the province of Cádiz and the Autonomous City of Ceuta, are actively attracting companies from the Asian country with the aim of creating a new bridge for collaboration and technological investment in the region.
Ceuta: Taxation and historical legacy as a competitive advantage
The Autonomous City of Ceuta has intensified its efforts to attract technological investments from India, taking advantage of the tax benefits unique to the city and its deep historical connection with the Hindu community.
The Second Vice President of the Autonomous City of Ceuta and Finance Councillor, Kissy Chandiramani, recently presented an initiative from the Finance Councillor's office in collaboration with the public company Procesa. Participants in the event included 15 Indian technology companies specialized in software development, data analytics, and applications.
"We want to leverage India's great technological potential and the historical connections of Ceuta's Hindu community, the oldest in Spain," Chandiramani noted. He emphasized that "Ceuta is the best place in Europe to invest because of its tax system, its environment and, above all, because of its people."
Indian investors have positively assessed Ceuta's tax and legal framework, as well as its connectivity with Spain, Europe, and Latin America. Following the meeting, discussions have begun regarding the talent attraction, the training of professionals and the establishment of business structures in the city.
Cadiz, a hub for innovation and the blue economy
In the province of Cádiz, the Confederation of Companies (CEC) through its initiative Cádiz Investment Hub (CIH), coordinated the visit of a delegation made up of 25 technology companies from India.
This meeting, framed within the India-Spain Innovation Bridge, seeks to position the province of Cádiz as the main gateway to the european market to startups and innovative Indian companies.
Manuel Martín, head of CIH, highlighted the mission's potential: "This mission accelerates a real flow of investment opportunities in sectors where Cádiz is strong: port logistics, industrial digitalization, and the blue economy. Our role is to turn interest into projects, supporting companies in their launch and growth."
Cádiz Investment Hub highlights the strategic combination of its port and railway infrastructure with local talent and leading companies, making Cádiz a competitive hub for innovation and technological production geared towards Europe, Africa and Asia.
