The plan, centered on four main pillars, includes opening new commercial spaces in Asia and providing companies in the region with a powerful business intelligence tool.

Global Intelligence Platform Against Barriers

The most innovative aspect of the plan is the implementation of a global business intelligence platformThis tool will facilitate access for companies, mainly in the industrial sector, to a vast database with tens of thousands of tenders and projects under development worldwide.

The aim is for Asturian companies to identify and analyze business opportunities, whether to participate in competitive bidding processes or to offer their services as suppliers for projects that have already been awarded. This system will benefit from direct support from Asturex, replicating and expanding upon the success of a previous pilot program in the Persian Gulf, where 12.000 projects were managed.

Seeking diversification as a strategic vector, Asturex has focused on Asia as a key region by 2026. Multi-sector trade missions have been planned to the Southeast Asia (including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia) and Oceania (Australia and New Zealand), continuing the actions of previous years.

To reinforce this expansion, the company plans to expansion of its external network with the accreditation of consultants and law firms in strategic countries, facilitating implementation and local knowledge for Asturian companies.

Strengthening in Mercosur and Talent Programs

The operational plan also dedicates significant space to the agreement between the European Union and Mercosur. Asturex will maintain and expand its specific service for accessing the Brazilian marketThis includes diagnostic assessments and validation programs at the destination, with the possibility of extending it to the other countries in the bloc. Furthermore, the programs in Argentina, Chile, and Colombia will continue.

Finally, the fourth axis seeks to guarantee the continuity of export dynamism through investment in talent and generational changeThis will be achieved through the awarding of international scholarships and the implementation of a new phase of the program. Asturias Exportswhich already has 19 success stories and in which participants are directly involved in the development of business cases.

Asturias Maintains its Export Pulse

Despite the international context of fragmentation and slower growth in world trade, the Asturian region maintains remarkable dynamism, reflected in the 644 regular exporting companiesThe Minister of Science, Industry, and Employment and President of Asturex, Borja Sánchez, emphasized the importance of the strategy: “These are important initiatives in a global context of trade wars, where Asturian companies need support from the Asturian Government to continue exporting,” Sánchez stated, highlighting the need to anticipate market trends with new destinations and digital tools. Asturias is expected to surpass this year the record of 677 exporting companies registered in 2024.
