Spain's Official Credit Institute (ICO) and Banco Sabadell Mexico have signed a new collaboration agreement for up to $70 million, the fourth between the two entities in the last six years, with the aim of financing and giving a significant boost to projects and investments of companies with Spanish interests operating in Mexico.

The firm is part of the ICO International Channel Line and continues a strong relationship that seeks to reinforce financial support for businesses linked to Spain in Mexico. One of the key new features of this agreement is the possibility of granting loans in [unclear - possibly "currency not specified in the original text"]. local currencycovering both investment and liquidity needs.
Focus on Sustainability and Digitalization
The new agreement places special emphasis on financing projects aligned with the green and digital transition, in line with the role of the ICO as a promoter of sustainable finance at the European level and in compliance with the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain.

Sustainable Projects: The collaboration will seek to increase the share of sustainable financing, which already represents more than 32% of the resources channeled by the ICO to Sabadell Mexico to date, thanks to its contribution to mitigating climate change.

Digital Boost: In addition, the ICO will allocate financial resources to promote the digitalization of the target companies, supporting essential technological initiatives to foster competitiveness, innovation, sustainable economic growth and job creation, in line with the 2021-2025 SME Digitalization Plan.
The relationship between ICO and Banco Sabadell México is strengthened with this fourth agreement. The three previous agreements under the ICO International Channel Line have financed a total of 50 projects in diverse sectors such as energy, hospitality, construction, transport, food industry and communications.
This agreement in Mexico is the ninth that the ICO has reached with the Sabadell Group globally, underscoring the close public-private collaboration between the two parties. The International Channel Line has facilitated agreements with other subsidiaries of the group, such as Sabadell Miami and Sabadell Casablanca, strengthening support for Spanish companies in key regions such as LATAM, USA and North Africa.
The Official Credit Institute (ICO), as the National Development Bank attached to the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business, continues its work supporting business internationalization. The ICO International Channel Line has mobilized a total of 3.715 millones de euros, financing more than 570 projects of Spanish companies in third markets.
