Six construction companies from Asturias have taken a firm step in their internationalization strategy by participating in BIG 5 Dubai 2025, the leading construction fair in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.

From 24 to 27 November 2025The Asturian delegation, coordinated by the Principality of Asturias Foreign Trade Promotion Agency (Asturex)—part of the Sekuens Group—actively explored new business opportunities in this key market. The participating companies were Ace Coatings, Aldaco Avance 2022, Construcciones Candanedo, Davelco, Humano.app y Socesmon.
In its 45th edition, BIG 5 Dubai consolidated its position as an unmissable meeting point, bringing together more than 2.800 exhibitors from 165 countries and attract some 85.000 international visitorsThe fair covers all sub-sectors, from materials and machinery to engineering and building solutions, including the Start-up City hall dedicated to innovation in contech, proptech, infratech and earthtech.
The agenda of the Asturian delegation combined institutional meetings with organizations of United Arab Emirates (UAE) and numerous B2B meetings with companies in the sector, with the strategic objective of positioning Asturias as a leading provider of construction solutions and associated services.
Asturian companies return with an optimistic view of the region's potential.
Yolanda SuárezThe director of ACE Coating, on her first visit to the fair, highlighted the event's broad geographical reach: "It has been very well attended and interesting, serving not only the United Arab Emirates but all of North Africa. The presence of companies from Iran, Iraq, and other countries has been impressive. An extraordinary opportunity for any Asturian company."
For its part, Carmen León, from Construcciones Candanedo, was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the exhibition: "A highly recommended fair, I discovered new construction techniques that I was unaware of and I was surprised by the quality and quantity of exhibitors from all over the world."
Strengthening the Internationalization Strategy
This participation aligns with the Asturex's International Promotion Plan for the Construction Sector 2025, developed in coordination with the Asturian Federation of Construction Entrepreneurs (CAC-Asprocon).
The UAE market is already significant for the Asturian economy. In 2024, the UAE was the destination number 18 of exports, with a volume of 80,5 billion euros exportedThe mission focuses on products such as zinc and zinc products, mechanical machinery, and iron and steel products. It aims to further increase and diversify this trade.
