Spain attends the International Astronautical Congress, the main international aerospace event

ICEX Spain Exportation and Investment and the Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Dubai are organizing for the second consecutive time the participation of eleven companies from the Spanish space industry.

The Spanish aerospace sector attends the main world event of the sector, the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2021, which is celebrated in Dubai (UAE) from 25 to October 29.

 

[Img # 43536]IAC is an annual traveling event that in 2019 took place in Washington DC, and whose edition was initially planned for 2020 in Dubai was postponed to 2021. The Spanish pavilion is organized in collaboration with the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), the National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA) and the Spanish Association of Defense, Security, Aeronautics and Space Technology Companies (TEDAE).

 

Spain will be present through a 60 square meter pavilion in which 11 of the most representative Spanish companies in the sector will show the capabilities of the Spanish space industry: satellite systems and equipment, launchers, operators, service providers, ground control centers and the new technologies that are part of the so-called new space, which allows the development of nanosatellites, reducing costs and marketing times that allow the “democratization of space.”

 

Spanish companies have a strong presence in the market for communications satellites and launchers and play a leading role in EU programs such as Galileo, Copernicus, Space Surveillance (SST) and Government Satellite Communications (Govsatcom). The National Earth Observation Satellite Program (PNOTS) has the PAZ satellite, launched in February 2018.

 

Likewise, in the pavilion of Spain Seville's candidacy to host the IAC celebration in 2024 will be visibly represented. This Spanish candidacy is headed by representatives of the National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA), which is a member of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) and CDTI that will be admitted to the IAF coinciding with IAC 2021.

First world space event

 

IAC is the first global space event between scientists, researchers, engineers, agencies, companies, students, young professionals, politicians, astronauts, members of the space-related press and the general public who are interested in space and science the space where the most influential experts, innovative technologists and industry pioneers come.

 

Under the title "Inspire, Innovate & Discover for the Benefit of Humankind”, IAC 2021 will offer a program of scientific conferences and an exhibition area and constitutes a meeting and meeting point for actors related to the space sector from around the world. This is a traveling congress whose last editions have been held in Bremen (Germany), Adelaide (Australia), Guadalajara (Mexico) and Washington (USA).

 

National pavilions and national space agencies from countries such as France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Poland, Israel, UAE, USA, among others, as well as large companies in the aerospace sector: Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin or Safran.

 

In its 2019 edition it had more than 200 exhibitors and 7.000 visitors from 80 countries.
