The Secretary of State for the European Union of Spain, Pascual Navarro, and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Francisco André, have participated.
The meeting has made it possible to follow up on the dialogue and cooperation between Ministries of both countries in the period between the celebration of the Bilateral summits. As on previous occasions, the meeting was held in a hybrid format, with a wide representation of ministerial departments from both countries and, in the case of Spain, also with representation from Presidency of the Government.
At the meeting, held at the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the excellent harmony between both countries and the desire to continue working, intensely, on joint projects and initiatives, both bilaterally and within the framework of the European Union.
In that sense, the meeting also allowed us to share some points of view on aspects related to the community agenda such as the need to generate synergies to take advantage of the strategic opportunity of the resilience and recovery, advances in the digital or environmental agenda of the European Union, as well as shared efforts in the field of energetic politics.
Other current aspects were also addressed, such as the European response to the Ukraine crisis or the prospects, during the current Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union, regarding migration.
Finally, both Secretaries of State exchanged opinions on the preparation of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, less than a year after its beginning, highlighting such important aspects as the social and environmental agenda and the importance of the Southern Neighborhood and Latin America and the Caribbean.
