Jury of the DHL Atlas export awards highlights innovation, sustainability and ecommerce in the new scenarios of foreign trade

The jury of the VIII edition of the DHL Atlas export awards, which recognize the work of Spanish SMEs that embark on the adventure of operating in the foreign market, met last Monday, November 13, to evaluate the applications presented.

 

In the current edition of the Atlas awards organized DHL Express, 270 applications have been received from 141 companies, which recognize the work and effort made by the Spanish SMEs to internationalize their businesses. An important task of deliberation for the jury, which once again has the honorary presidency of Xiana Mendez, Secretary of State for Commerce, and is made up of Cesar Tello, general director of Adigital, Julián López Arenas, director of Competitiveness of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Beatriz Reguero Naredo, director of the State Account Area at CESCE,  Maria Carrasco Linares, general secretary of the Exporters Club, Nicolas Mouze, Director of Marketing and Sales of DHL Express Spain and Portugal, Pablo López general director of the Forum of Renowned Spanish Brands and Martha Valero, deputy general director of Financial Promotion of Internationalization of the Secretary of State for Commerce at ICEX.

Nicolas Mouze from DHL Express, highlighted the difficulty of selecting the winners, since the number of applications has increased in recent years. "Every year we see that companies have more patents and are looking for new ways to implement and also address new markets," he said.

For her part, María Carrasco, from the Exporters Club and member of the jury, stressed that the DHL Atlas awards already have a long tradition, they are an "incentive and reinforcement" for the award-winning companies. "It's a recognition of its internationalization strategy and encourages them to continue growing and taking the Spain brand around the world," he stated.

Beatriz Reguero de Cesce, also a member of the jury, commented that the awards make a great contribution to the foreign sector and agreed that they are an "incentive" for exporting companies. "It is a path to success for companies due to the competitiveness to which they are subjected and the growth it facilitates," she said.

Marta Valero from ICEX highlighted the importance of internationalization for Spanish companies. an internationalization that progressively It is more structural and contributes to the strategic plans of companies as a resilience factor. "In 2022, the foreign sector accounted for half of our country's economic growth," he recalled, in a context of uncertainty, geopolitical and economic challenges.

Lastly, Julián López de Cámara of Spain, stressed that the DHL Atlas awards recognize the effort of Spanish companies to internationalize, for the search for alternative markets and diversification that continues to be basic for the Spanish company to compete globally. "Internationalization is key for companies, both SMEs and large companies," he stated, like Pablo López from the Forum of renowned Spanish brands.
