Recently Arteche has received the DHL Atlas grand prize for export, a moment that we have taken advantage of to have this interview with your business development manager.
What assessments can you make about this prestigious recognition from the Spanish foreign sector? What is the business/sector of Arteche that led you to make the international leap at the time?
Manuel Fernandez Guerra: For us it is a great honor and we are very happy to receive this recognition from DHL, a company with a great international history and vocation for service and is very aligned with our values. So, having our vocation for exports recognized is a great honor for us and above all for all the people and the team behind it and who make the delivery of our products to our customers possible on a day-to-day basis.
What has this international leap meant for the company and what are the strengths for your business that have been driven by its internationalization?
MFG: Arteche. We are a company that is focused on the electrical sector. We are mainly in the transmission, distribution and generation of electricity and we provide services and products to provide reliability and quality to the supply of electrical energy. What gave us the step to internationalization? I would say that mainly the vocation of our founder, Don Aurelio Arteche, which in 1946, after founding the company, always had that vision of internationalization and in the 70s we made the leap into the international market. Well, it has given us great growth. We currently have 13 factories in the world, we have six innovation centers and that closeness to our customers is one of our greatest values. And as a strength we are in a sector where the proximity, quality and adaptability of the products is fundamental. And that closeness, together with our flexibility and service, have been key to our growth.
In a generally complex context, what trends do you expect for your company and your sector in the medium term?
MFG: Well, we are in a very important stage of the energy transition and we, as part of the electricity sector, are and have always been part of the transformation of the sector. We see very important trends such as the issue of renewable energy, which is still a dominant technology and we are present. The world of digitalization is also beginning to see many issues of circular economy, sustainability and well, we take those challenges with enthusiasm and are part of our growth plan.
