This event is part of the visit of the Minister of Economy, Commerce and Business, Charles Body, and has had the participation of a thirty Spanish companies and three hundred local ones, highlighting the sustainable mobility, renewable energy and agri-food sectors.
“Spain and Japan are countries that share values. We have complementary economies and we are committed to industrial policies aimed at competitiveness through innovation in traditional sectors and in future fields such as the green transition, digital transformation or health,” said Riera. Furthermore, she emphasized that “Spanish companies must look beyond the European and Latin American market, and take advantage of the advantages offered by the treaty of European Union-Japan Association, especially because economic growth depends, today more than ever, on internationalization, and Japan is the third largest economy in the world.”
At the meeting, round tables on digital transformation and energy transition were held, as well as B2B meetings to explore collaboration opportunities
The event was inaugurated by the Minister of Economy, Commerce and Business, Carlos Body, together with the Japanese Minister Ryosuke Kozuki, who highlighted the importance of strengthening trade relations between both countries, especially in sectors where both nations are world leaders, such as renewable energies and information and communication technologies (ICT).
During the meeting, round tables on digital transformation and energy transition were held, as well as B2B meetings to explore collaboration opportunities. In addition, Riera held a meeting with the international director of the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce, thus reinforcing institutional and business ties between Spain and Japan.
