From August 21 to 24, the Cremades & Calvo Sotelo ESSDM International Flamenco Fashion Chair will bring the essence of Andalusian flamenco fashion to Costa Rica Fashion Week 2024, an event that will be held in the historic Old Customs House of San José.
August 21, Francisco Valderrama, general director of the Higher Center for Higher Artistic Education in Design ESSDM of Seville, will offer a conference titled "Flamenco Fashion and the international promotion of the Andalusia brand". Valderrama will share with the public the history and evolution of flamenco fashion, highlighting her role as an ambassador of Andalusian culture on a global level.
The action will include two main activities that will highlight the cultural wealth of Andalusia and its international impact through fashion.
On August 24 at 15:30 p.m., the main event will take place: a flamenco fashion show with the creations of five prominent Andalusian designers. Rafael Cerrada, Isabel Japan, María Teresa Ortiz, Paula Sánchez, and Marina Soudry They will show their designs, which have already conquered the public in Turin, Italy. In addition, the Chair will present a collection resulting from its collaboration with Italy, reaffirming its commitment to internationalization of flamenco fashion.
With these activities, the Cremades & Calvo Sotelo ESSDM International Flamenco Fashion Chair seeks to strengthen the cultural ties between Andalusia and Costa Rica, and consolidate flamenco fashion as a global reference, contributing to the promotion of the Andalusia Brand in the world.
