On September 23 and 24, 2024, Asturex, the Foreign Promotion Society of the Principality of Asturias, organized a successful Market research in Switzerland for companies in the Asturian food and beverage sector.
The Asturian delegation, which included companies such as Cuevas Artisans, La Peral and Trabanco Cheeses Distribution, presented its products to more than 30 guests from the sector, including renowned importers and distributors, as well as a total of 110 selected attendees. According to Asturex, the promotion was a success, as "50% of companies identified clear opportunities to market their products in Switzerland", highlighting the market potential for Asturian products despite the current limited presence of Spanish products in general.
In 2023, Asturias recorded exports to Switzerland worth 42 million euros
The event allowed Asturian companies to position their products before a specialized public, which, according to Asturex, underlines the opportunities for expansion in a country that especially values high quality and sustainable products. The visit to COOP and its subsidiary Transgourmet provided a key opportunity to establish business contacts with one of the European leaders in the food distribution sector.
With a Swiss market characterised by its high purchasing power and growing interest in premium products, Asturian companies see in this country a favourable environment for the expansion of their innovative products.
