Andalucía TRADE has launched a high-caliber trade mission to Manila, Philippines, facilitating a meeting between five leading Andalusian companies and the promising Philippine market. With an agenda that included 30 business meetings and strategic visits, the initiative seeks to consolidate Andalusia's presence in a rapidly expanding Asian market.

Andalucía TRADE, the public agency for the internationalization of Andalusian companies, has successfully completed an intense commercial agenda in Manila, Philippines, from March 24 to 27. The main objective: to explore and take advantage of the vast opportunities that the Philippine market offers to Andalusian companies specializing in key sectors such as biotechnology, agricultural support industries, and information and communications technologies (ICT).
The trade mission, which included the participation of five leading companies from Cadiz, Seville and Almeria, included a total of 30 business meetings with importers and local entities, as well as visits to strategic sales points in Manila. The participating companies were:
- Barbadillo Wineries (Cádiz): Recognized for its production of sherry wines.
- From Luque (Cádiz): Specialized in natural aromas and extracts.
- Ángel Camacho Food (Seville): Leader in the production of olives, pickles, olive oils, and sauces.
- Migasa Oils (Seville): Noted for its production of high-quality olive oils.
- Inagroup Biotech (Almería): Innovator in biotechnology solutions for health and agriculture.
Andalusia TRADE reports highlight the Philippines' potential as a strategic market for Andalusian companies. With a population of over 115 million and a steadily growing economy, The Philippines is positioned as the second largest market in Southeast Asia., after Indonesia.
In 2024, the Philippines ranked as the eighth destination market for Andalusian exports in Asia and 35th globally, with a value of 138 million euros.
"The Philippines represents a key gateway to an expanding Asian market"," stated a representative of Andalucía TRADE. "Its dynamic economy and growing demand for advanced products and services offer unparalleled opportunities for our companies."
El International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts that the Philippine economy will grow by nearly 6% in the coming years, placing it among the world's 20 largest economies by 2050. This growth, driven by a youthful population and increased purchasing power, has attracted the attention of investors around the world.
"The recent opening of the Philippines to the foreign investment and the reduction of state intervention in the business sector have created an enabling environment for international trade," the representative added.
In 2024, the Philippines consolidated its position as the eighth destination market for Andalusian exports in Asia, valued at €138 million. The main exported products include spirits, olive oil, meat products, and food preparations.
Andalucía TRADE highlights that, in addition to the sectors already mentioned, there are significant opportunities in renewable energy, infrastructure and construction, tourism and leisure, water and waste management, education, and healthcare.
The trade mission was co-financed with funds from the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2021-2027, with a community contribution of 85%, which underlines the European Union's commitment to supporting the internationalization of Andalusian companies.
The historical relationship and cultural ties between Spain and the Philippines add additional value to this commercial collaboration, facilitating mutual understanding and the creation of lasting relationships.
