The Spanish president reaffirmed the Spanish government's firm commitment to deepening economic ties with Vietnam, recognizing the dynamism and growth potential of the Vietnamese market in the regional context.

 

"Vietnam has established itself as a key partner for Spain in our expansion strategy in Asia," declared President Sánchez before an auditorium packed with business leaders and institutional representatives. "We share a vision of Open markets and a firm commitment to multilateralism, principles that guide our bilateral relationship and are essential to building a prosperous economic future for both countries."

 

The Secretary of State for Commerce, Amparo López Senovilla, who also actively participated in the meeting, highlighted the strategic importance of Vietnam for Spain in the Asian continent.Vietnam is a strategic partner for Spain in Asia and we share values ​​such as open markets and multilateralism"," said López Senovilla. "The significant presence of Spanish and Vietnamese companies at this forum is a clear indication of the mutual interest in strengthening collaboration and implementing projects of common interest that drive growth and innovation in both territories."

 

 

The signing of a financial protocol during the visit promises to catalyze Spanish investment in sustainable development projects in Vietnam, opening a new chapter in economic collaboration between the two nations.

 

 

A key announcement during the day was the signing of a bilateral financial protocol, an instrument that the Secretary of State for Trade described as crucial for the future of economic relations. "Thanks to the financial protocol we signed during this visit, our relations will strengthen significantly," explained López Senovilla. "This agreement will allow Promote Spanish investments in infrastructure and sustainable development projects in Vietnam, facilitating financing through the Business Internationalization Fund (FIEM). We are convinced that this will open up new avenues for collaboration and generate tangible benefits for both economies."

 

For its part, Immaculate Riera, Director General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, offered an optimistic outlook on the current state and potential future of the bilateral economic relationship. "The health of our bilateral trade and investment relations is excellent, but what's even more promising is the future potential we see," Riera noted. The Director General moderated a panel discussion featuring representatives from various Spanish companies that have established and grown in the Vietnamese market, often with local partners. She emphasized the importance of collaboration and local market knowledge for business success.

 

Marta White, director of the International and Multilateral Organizations Department of CEOE, stressed the value of this type of institutional meetings to foster trust and facilitate business opportunities"These institutional trips with the active participation of companies are very valuable tools because they allow us to generate a climate of mutual trust, and that trust is a fundamental factor for the development of international business," said Blanco. "We already have Spanish companies with a consolidated presence in Vietnam and others that are developing important projects. In the run-up to the business meeting, some twenty prominent Spanish companies had the opportunity to participate in an exclusive working breakfast with the President of the Government. Among the companies present were leaders in various sectors, such as infrastructure (Adif, Técnicas Reunidas, Acciona, CAF), defense and technology (Notary, Indra), transport (Renfe, Talgo, Airbus), automotive (Antolin), recycling (Recover), electronic components (Premo), household items (Rolser), renewable energies (EDPr), hospitality (Palladium, Meliá) and construction materials (Porcelanosa). During this meeting, business representatives were able to directly convey to President Sánchez their interests, current projects, and future prospects in the Vietnamese market, thus strengthening public-private dialogue in the internationalization strategy of the Spanish economy.

 

This business meeting in Ho Chi Minh City is seen as a catalyst for a new phase in economic relations between Spain and Vietnam.
