Renfe and the Japanese Central Japan Railway seal an agreement to promote internationalization and high-speed rail.

Renfe Proyectos Internacionales (RPI), the Renfe Group subsidiary dedicated to expanding its business abroad, and the Japanese company Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) formalized an important Memorandum of Cooperation this Friday. The main objective of this strategic agreement is to strengthen ties and foster bilateral collaboration in various key areas for the development and international projection of both railway operators.

The alliance will focus on the exchange of experiences and qualified personnel in the technical, operational, and strategic fields. One of the main focuses will be the high-speed sector, where both Spain and Japan are world leaders. Spain has the second-largest high-speed network on the planet, a successful model that Renfe seeks to export, while Japan is a pioneer and undisputed leader in this technology.

According to the agreement, the collaboration will also encompass research and development (R&D) in the railway sector, the operation and maintenance of high-speed and conventional lines, and the joint pursuit of new business opportunities in international markets. This MoC underscores the two companies' desire to establish a long-term relationship with a focus on projects of mutual interest that may arise in the competitive global landscape.

With this agreement, Renfe strengthens its position as a relevant player in the global railway sector, promoting strategic alliances with leading international operators.
