Through the EU-Japan Centre's Vulcanus in Japan (VinJ) program, companies can access a free, customized market report, an essential tool for their internationalization in the world's third-largest economy.
Japan represents a significant opportunity for Spanish companies, not only because of its advanced economy, but also because of the high demand for quality products and the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement, in force since 2019, which has simplified trade between the two regions.
Doing business in the Asian country requires meticulous preparation and market research, a process that the Vulcanus in Japan program seeks to optimize.
The reports, tailor-made for selected companies in the European Union, are the result of the work of European students of technical and engineering degrees with outstanding qualifications. These VinJ participants, selected by the EU-Japan Centre, they undertake an eight-month industrial internship at host Japanese companies and are the ones who carry out the research and writing of the studies, always under the supervision of experienced advisors.
This type of study is essential for assessing the potential of a product or service in the Japanese market, identifying competitors and key players, understanding user needs, as well as regulatory frameworks and technical requirements. Ultimately, it provides a solid foundation for designing a successful expansion strategy in Japan.
While the initiative is open to a variety of sectors, priority is given to areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data and Emerging Digital Technologies, Biotechnology, Life Sciences and Sustainable Innovation, Smart Infrastructure, Mobility and Urban Development, Advanced Electronics, Aerospace, and Intelligent Systems.
