Andalucía not only consolidates itself as the third largest exporting autonomous community in Spain, but also stands out for its positive trade balance, with a surplus of €1.194 billion in the first half of 2025. This achievement contrasts markedly with the €25.113 billion deficit for the country as a whole, making it the only one in the "Top 3" with a favorable balance.
The autonomous community reached €21.337 billion in exports, a figure similar to the same period last year, while its imports contracted by 2,5%. This imbalance in favor of exports translates into a coverage rate of 106%, much higher than the national figure of 89%. Even traditionally strong autonomous communities such as Catalonia and the Community of Madrid, the first and second largest exporters respectively, closed the semester with deficits of 7.063 and 26.013 million euros.
Andalusia also diversifies its markets, as it adds to its European strength that it reflects in countries on other continents.
Food and industrial products boost sales
El food industry Andalusia remains the driving force behind exports, with fruit and vegetables reaching their highest levels ever. Vegetable sales soared 9,8% to €2.653 billion, while fruit sales grew 13,7%, totaling €2.399 billion.
Although the value of olive oil fell by 19,1% due to lower prices, sales volume increased by 41%, demonstrating the sector's resilience.
In the industrial sector, there was notable growth in exports of copper and its manufactures (+17,9%), mining (+29,1%), and, most spectacularly, iron and steel smelting, which registered an increase of 85%.

Despite declines in key markets such as Germany, France or the United States, the community has been able to find new business opportunities, strengthening its presence in countries such as China and Portugal.
Cadiz and Almería lead provincial growth
At the provincial level, export dynamism is concentrated in Cadiz and AlmeriaThe province of Cádiz led the growth with a 15,2% increase in foreign sales, totaling €4.349 billion. Meanwhile, Almería recorded a 10,6% increase, reaching a record high of €3.454 billion.
Seville remained the province's largest exporter, with 4.430 billion euros, despite a slight contraction. Almeria, Cordoba, Granada and Malaga They also reached record figures in their exports, and together with Jaén, they maintain a positive trade balance.
