La Chamber of Commerce of Spain has revealed in the Chilean capital the progress of a large-scale project aimed at strengthening the Andean country's tourism sector. The initiative, funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), seeks to create an innovative Tourism Business Competitiveness System which will provide direct and personalized support to companies in the sector.
During two days of intense sessions, representatives of the Chamber of Spain, Raúl Mínguez and Luis Rodríguez, they met with the main tourism associations and Chilean authorities, such as the Chilean National Tourism Service (SERNATUR)The objective was to present the interim results of a plan designed to enable the State to support companies in overcoming their challenges and adapting to the dynamics of the global market.
The project seeks, on the one hand, to help companies overcome structural deficiencies and improve their market position, and on the other, to generate key strategic information for the formulation of more effective public policies. With this initiative, the Chamber of Spain capitalizes on and exports the valuable experience it has accumulated in developing its programs for business competitiveness.
The agenda included bilateral meetings with the most influential tourism associations in the country, such as Fedetur, Achet and Hoteliers, in addition to meetings with important Chilean public institutions such as Corfo and the Ministry of Economy.
This joint effort between Spain and Chile, with the support of the IDB, marks a milestone in bilateral cooperation to revitalize a key industry in the country's economy. The project aims to become a model of public-private partnership for the development of an increasingly complex and demanding sector.
