Nextil Group, the Spanish textile group, has signed the largest contract in its history with the American giant Maxum International Group, valued at a minimum of $175 million over five years.

Maxum's decision to partner with Nextil is part of its strategy to progressively transfer its production from Asia to Guatemala, betting on a closer, more competitive, and, above all, more sustainable supply chain. This movement reflects a global trend driven by changes in US trade policies and tariffs, which favor production in Central AmericaWith this contract, Nextil is at the epicenter of this transition, demonstrating that the nearshoring has ceased to be a simple theory to become a reality with large-scale contracts.

The CEO of Nextil added that this contract gives full meaning to the recent expansion of production capacity at its plant in Guatemala, which can now reach the $ 70 million annually, and the company is already studying new strategies to increase this capacity beyond 2026.
