Chivite will not travel alone; she will be accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Mikel Irujo, and the Director General of Business Development and Infrastructure, Inigo Arruti.

The main objective of this visit is to meet with the executives of Mobis, the South Korean automotive company that has already set its sights on Navarra with a significant investment. Mobis is behind the second largest business investment in the Foral Community This century, an electric vehicle battery assembly plant in Noáin/Noain, valued at €214 million. This plant, which is expected to produce up to 360,000 battery systems per year, will directly supply Volkswagen Navarre, reinforcing the community's position at the forefront of the automotive industry.

In addition to the meeting with Mobis, President Chivite and her delegation will meet with the company's parent company, Hyundai Motor Company, one of the global giants of the sector. The agenda includes a visit to Hyundai's headquarters and a meeting with the Spanish ambassador to Korea, Julio Herraiz.

A bridge to future collaborations

The visit not only seeks to consolidate Mobis' investment. It is a strategic effort to present Navarra as a hub for attracting investment in EuropeChivite will present the advantages of Navarre's industrial network and explore Korean industrial policy and research ecosystem to identify new opportunities.

Trade relations between Navarre and South Korea have shown constant growth.

In 2024, Navarra exported products worth €21 million, mainly from the industrial and agri-food sectors, while imports reached €49 million, dominated by industrial products. The Mobis plant in Noáin is a crucial milestone in these relations, as €12.7 million of its financing comes from the PERTE of the Electric and Connected Vehicle II.

The visit to Seoul, scheduled for September 22 and 23, represents a proactive step by the Government of Navarre to secure its place on the global map of technological and sustainable investment, leveraging the strength of its local industry to attract international giants like Hyundai Mobis.
