Andalusia's Economic Internationalization Strategy

Andalucía TRADE leads business expansion in Paraguay, a strategic country for investments in renewable energy, tourism, and agribusiness.

A total of 33 Andalusian companies participated in a key event in Seville to explore the competitive advantages and investment opportunities offered by Paraguay. The meeting, sponsored by Andalucía TRADE and the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and European Funds, seeks to consolidate trade relations and access to the vast Mercosur market through this South American country, known for its sustained economic growth and attractive tax regime for investors.

La Deputy Minister of Economy, Finance and European Funds of the Andalusian Regional Government, Amelia Martinez, met in Seville with the Ambassador of Paraguay to Spain, Justo Apodaca, at a business summit that brought together 33 companies from the community. This initiative aligns with the Andalusian Government's internationalization strategy, highlighting Paraguay not only as an investment destination, but also as a "gateway" to the Mercosur market, representing more than 295 million consumers.

 

Paraguay is projected as one of the economies with greatest growth potential in the regionThanks to its highly competitive tax regime and a solid investment incentive policy. Its economic stability, low exposure to political risk and its global leadership in hydroelectric power reinforce their attractiveness for Andalusian companies looking to diversify and expand. The country is immersed in a process of productive transformation towards industrialization and innovation, especially in its strong agricultural and livestock sector, seeking products with greater added value.

 

Within the framework of the forum, Deputy Minister Martínez highlighted the country's relevance for Andalusian business: "Paraguay represents a priority market for Andalusian companies due to its high growth potential, abundance of natural resources and its strategic position, which makes it one of the future The most important logistics and commercial hubs in South America."

 

And he added: "From the Ministry of Economy, we are working to be the benchmark for companies in the community that seek to grow and Paraguay is one of the countries where we can open markets in sectors in which we are leaders. and we have a great know-how, such as tourism, renewable energy and agroindustry."

 

Business Opportunities in Key Sectors

 

The Paraguayan authorities, through entities such as REDIEX, actively promote foreign investment in strategic sectors. The most notable areas for Andalusian firms are:

  1. Renewable Energy (RE): Thanks to the great potential hydroelectric, wind and solar of the country, investments are sought in projects, technology and associated equipment.

  2. Tourism: El attractive cultural and natural heritage generates opportunities in accommodation, travel agencies and specialized tourism offerings.

The day included the success testimonies of Andalusian companies already established in the country, such as Ingenostrum, Open Systems and Sima Machinery, who shared their experiences, validating the Paraguayan market and highlighting the importance of institutional support.

 

Destination Support and Commercial Growth

 

To facilitate the internationalization process, Andalucía TRADE offers support at destination through its Business Antenna in Uruguay, which extends its area of ​​influence to Paraguay and Argentina.

 

Although Paraguay ranks 101st as an Andalusian export destination, trade flows are booming. In 2024, they reached a volume of 38 millones de euros.
