Seeks to consolidate in the Asian market

The Port of Algeciras promotes itself in Singapore as a leader in green energy.

El Port of Algeciras has launched a commercial promotion in Singapore, with the aim of consolidating its position in the Asian market and highlighting its progress in decarbonization and as a "Green Energy Hub".

 

The mission, which seeks to strengthen trade relations with one of the world's leading logistics hubs, is led by the president of the Algeciras Bay Port Authority (APBA), Gerardo Landaluce; the president of the Port Community (COMPORT), José Manuel Tejedor; and the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Fenoy.

 

The highlight of the agenda will be the presentation of the Port of Algeciras and its Port Community, scheduled for Thursday afternoon at the Pan Pacific Orchard Hotel SingaporeThe Spanish ambassador to Singapore is expected to attend. Mercedes Alonso, and representatives of the main shipping companies, maritime service companies, and energy transition companies based in the region.

 

 

A large business and institutional delegation departed for the Asian country to present the renewed offer of maritime and logistics services at the port of the Strait of Gibraltar.

 

 

During the event, the port's decarbonization plans and the initiatives that comprise the "Green Energy Hub," a range of new industrial projects focused on the production of green fuels, will be detailed.

 

In addition to representatives from APBA, COMPORT, and the Chamber of Commerce, the delegation includes representatives from 18 private companies in the logistics and maritime sectors, including Algeciras Logistics, Repsol Trading, Pérez y Cía, BMT Repairs, and Cryo Logistics, demonstrating the broad private sector support for the initiative.

 

Before the official presentation, the delegation will maintain an intense work program with various sessions, workshops, and visits to terminals, shipping companies, shipyards and local professional associations.

 

This important trade mission to Asia is supported by the Spanish Economic and Trade Office in Singapore and financially supported by the Chamber of Commerce's Global SME Program, co-financed with ERDF funds from the EU and the Provincial Council.
