El Government of La Rioja, through the Economic Development Agency of La Rioja (Ader), has launched the call for six internship training grants on external action for the next year 2026. These scholarships offer young people from La Rioja the opportunity to work in commercial offices of Spanish embassies, with destinations in Casablanca, Dublin, Paris, Milan, Lisbon and Düsseldorf.

The application period opens today and runs until 14:00 p.m. on November 12. Applications must be submitted online at the ADER website.

The call for proposals is endowed with an investment of 330.000 euros, co-financed by the European Social Fund, with the strategic objective of attracting and enhancing talent in the Autonomous Community.

"We want this young talent, which is a strategic pillar, to complement their training in key areas for the promotion and economic development of La Rioja," said Luis Pérez Echeguren, manager of ADER. He emphasized that current business management "faces challenges that didn't exist a few years ago," making preparation essential in contexts of uncertainty and rapid change.

Casablanca, Dublin, Paris, Milan, Lisbon, and Düsseldorf are destinations that can be requested on the ADER website until November 12.

Commitment to Business Competitiveness

The regulatory order supporting this call, published on September 19, seeks to promote the talent of Riojan university students, a growing need for companies in the region in the face of an increasingly uncertain global market. According to ADER (Association of Entrepreneurs in the Region of La Rioja), promoting these scholarships is a "key strategy for companies that wish to attract and retain the most qualified talent while improving their competitiveness."

The foreign action scholarships are aimed at young graduates from La Rioja (born in 1995 or later) who seek to supplement their education and demonstrate a B2 level of English.

Functions and Remuneration

The scholarship recipients will take on key roles supporting Riojan businesses abroad, including: answering business inquiries, collaborating on activities promoting Riojan products, conducting sector studies and reports, and researching markets and reporting on the country's economic, legal, and commercial activities.

"The dual objective is to enable young people with qualifications to enter the workforce, where they can complement the formal training they have received with practical training, and to provide Riojan companies with a timely and effective resource to improve their competitiveness," explained Pérez Echeguren.

The selection process will consist of two phases: an evaluation of academic experience, language and computer skills, and a second phase of a personal interview with a presentation.
