Internationalization of the Asturian Metal Sector

Asturian metal companies explore new business opportunities at the World Nuclear Exhibition in Paris

A delegation of six leading companies from the metalworking, construction, and auxiliary services industries in Asturias, coordinated by Asturex, participated in the World Nuclear Exhibition 2025 (WNE) in Paris. The main objective of the visit was to identify market niches within the global nuclear energy value chain and to learn about the latest technological innovations in the sector.

Asturian companies MECAINSA Metalworking, Fundón Networks and Fluids, Asturfeito, Oxiplant Steel Transformation Center, Itemat Mechanization and Engineering y European Design (IDESA) They were part of the business mission organized by the Foreign Promotion Society of the Principality of Asturias, Asturex (belonging to the Sekuens Group). This visit took place within the framework of WNE 2025, held between November 4 and 6 at the Villepinte fairgrounds in France.

 

During their stay in the French capital, the business representatives had the opportunity to access the most comprehensive network of service providers worldwide from the nuclear sector, an industry with applications ranging from energy generation to fields such as medicine, agriculture, and space exploration. Participation focused on gaining firsthand knowledge of the capabilities and business opportunities that the nuclear energy sector offers to Asturian companies, key suppliers of goods and services in the value chains of metal, construction and auxiliary services.

 

The WNE 2025 trade fair consolidated itself once again as a an essential reference point for the nuclear industrybringing together 780 exhibitors from nearly 50 activities covering the entire value chain of the sector. The event attracted more than 23.500 professional visitors and featured representation from 88 countries and 17 international pavilions.

 

During the fair, Asturian companies had the opportunity to learn about the most comprehensive network of world-class service providers in the nuclear sector.

 

Among the sectors represented at the WNE, civil engineering and technical assistance, and manufacturing stood out. large componentssteam generators, pumps, tanks, valves, boilers and forges, pipes and welding, as well as electrical and instrumentation equipment and remote control.

 

This initiative is part of the Asturex's metal business promotion plan for 2025an ambitious plan that seeks to boost internationalization of the Asturian companyThis plan includes, in addition to this visit, the organization of two other trade fairs, four trade missions to nine countries, a forum and three reverse missions.
