Panamanian insurer Mundial Desarrollo de Negocios SA bought Guatemalan company Cigna de Seguros SA for $6.871.957, the Panama Stock Exchange reported today.
Mundial de Desarrollo de Negocios SA is a subsidiary of Grupo Mundial Tenedora SA and signed on the 19th the purchase agreement with the company Cigna Hold/oldings Overseas, Inc. for the acquisition of 594.250 common ordinary shares, which represent 99,041 percent of the share capital of Empresa Guatemalteca Cigna de Seguros SA, the Panamanian stock exchange specified.
The payment per share of Empresa Guatemalteca Cigna de Seguros, authorized to conduct insurance business in Guatemala, is $11,56, and was made "in cash," the source added in a statement.
