Asturex organizes a trade mission to Senegal in collaboration with MetaIndustry4

Within the framework of the ESECA project for sub-Saharan Africa

The Principality of Asturias Foreign Promotion Society, SA (Asturex) organizes the participation of companies LLANEZA PROFILES, OXIPLANT STEEL TRANSFORMATION CENTER and POZO AMAGO in the trade mission to Senegal developed in collaboration with MetaIndustry4, from July 3 to 7, within the framework of the project ESECA for sub-Saharan Africa.

The ESECA project aims to identify and open business opportunities for SMEs in the renewable energy and energy sector. Smart Grids in Sub-Saharan Africa. One of the target markets is Senegal.

 

This country has ongoing plans for the deployment of renewable energy systems, both solar and wind, and plans for the development of a smarter grid system that will include the implementation of renewable energy parks. It has different financing programs to develop projects in these areas and Senegalese companies are looking for European companies in terms of collaboration in smart grid systems, microgrids, storage and renewable energy generation systems that will provide greener energy consumption. Currently, Senegal generates 80% of its electricity from non-renewable energy.

Senegal has a clear commitment to renewable energies. In February 2020, the largest wind farm in West africa with 158MW and later its first photovoltaic plant located in Bakhol 30MW; installed on an area of ​​50 hectares and is equipped with 77.000 modules.

 

The participating companies will develop, from July 3 to 7, the individual agendas organized by Asturex and the ESECA program and will hold individual meetings in the offices of the selected companies.

 

Business opportunities presentation day

 

On Tuesday, the 4th, the joint event will take place ESECA-AEWEN, with official invitation from the Senegalese energy ministries, the government, associations, Senegalese companies and key stakeholders. During it, the market, its opportunities and financing, etc., will be presented, and networking contacts will be developed between the Senegalese and European companies attending.

Throughout the week, individual agendas organized by Asturex and the ESECA program will be developed with individual meetings in the offices of the selected companies.
