Nine Asturian companies have actively participated in The Smarter Europe, the world's leading trade fair for solar energy and energy storage, held from May 7 to 9 in Munich.
The Asturian presence at the event, coordinated by the Foreign Promotion Society of the Principality of Asturias (Asturex), is part of the metal sector promotion plan promoted by the Sekuens Group for this year 2025. This initiative seeks to strengthen the internationalization of companies in the region through various actions, including visits to fairs, trade missions, a forum, and a reverse mission.
The Smarter Europe integrated four key events: INTERSOLAR, the world's leading trade fair for solar energy; EES Europe, focused on batteries and storage systems; POWER2DRIVE Europe, focused on charging infrastructure and electric mobility; and EM-Power Europe, dedicated to solutions for a smart and sustainable energy supply.
Asturex had a prominent space within the INTERSOLAR section, where the capabilities and innovation of Asturian companies in the field of photovoltaic energy and storage were promoted. This stand served as a platform to facilitate international business meetings and foster networking among participants.
Participation in The Smarter Europe highlights the growing potential of the Asturian energy sector in foreign markets.
The region's exports to Germany have seen a significant increase in recent years, reaching €245 million in 2024, demonstrating the competitiveness and attractiveness of energy solutions. "Made in Asturias".
The fair, which this year spanned 19 pavilions, reaffirms its position as the world's leading event for professionals and companies in the solar energy and storage sector. The large presence of exhibitors and visitors from around the world underscores the importance of this event in driving the global energy transition.
