40% progress is reported
In Mexico, Javier Plascencia, Vice President of Foreign Trade of the Guanajuato State Chamber of Footwear (CICEG), stated that of the 100 target companies planned to be served in the Mexicanshoes Quality Certification Program, 40% has been covered so far.
For his part, Gerson Ceschini, operations director of Mexicanshoes, noted that 40 companies have been visited, of which 27 are already part of the program; of these 27, 25% are medium-sized, 70% are small, and 5% are micro-enterprises.
Ceschini explained that there are four different phases to determine the level of competitiveness that the company finds itself in worldwide: Phase 1 has a structure to meet customer requirements, Phase 2 is competitive at the national level, Phase 3 is competitive at the international level, and Phase 4 is the management of the competitiveness model.
After explaining the progress of this Certification program, footwear entrepreneurs were invited to join Mexicanshoes Quality. For his part, Raúl Gallardo, president of the Leather and Footwear Show (Sapica), spoke about the support offered to new entrepreneurs, which this year included 110 from different states across the country, especially from San Mateo Atenco and 15 from Yucatán.
