Ayesa and Lasenor boost refined lecithin production in India with a multi-million dollar investment

The Spanish engineering and technology company Ayesa has been selected to carry out the detailed engineering and procurement management for a new lecithin plant that Lasenor is building in Butibori, Maharashtra . This innovative plant will have the capacity to produce 3.000 tons of refined lecithin annually and will generate 1.932 tons of soybean oil as a byproduct .

The project began with the basic engineering phase in late 2022 and is currently in the process where Ayesa is defining the necessary aspects for proper procurement management and subsequent execution. According to official statements, this contract reinforces Ayesa's commitment to industrial development in India: "This is our first project related to lecithin development in the country," a spokesperson emphasized.

The project, which will come into operation in the second quarter of 2025, has involved an investment of 15 million euros.

Refined lecithin is known for its emulsifying properties and potential health benefits. At this plant, a sophisticated process will be carried out that will remove impurities such as oils and fatty acids to obtain a final product that is oil-free and highly pure. In addition, through an advanced distillation process, acetone will be recycled thus reducing the total consumption of raw material.

With this initiative, Lasenor not only expands its international presence but also contributes to the technological and industrial advancement of the Indian food sector.
