Azora, a leading Spanish company in investment and asset management, has acquired two hotels and two adjoining buildings in the center of Brussels, which will be integrated into the urban hostel platform Latroupe.

The hotels acquired are the The shepherd, with 64 rooms, and the Secret garden, with 35 rooms. Both are located near the Royal Palace of Brussels, in Ixelles. The acquisition includes two adjacent buildings that will be renovated and converted into a 130-bed hostel. The three assets are located around a private garden with a swimming pool.

Latroupe, the pan-European urban hostel operator created by Azora, will manage the new assets in Brussels. The company offers a unique accommodation experience that combines the comforts and facilities of a 4* hotel with the atmosphere and vibrancy of a traditional hostel.

With this acquisition, Latroupe reaches a total of 8 assets and 1.600 beds in Madrid, Bilbao, Brussels, Dublin and Barcelona.

The company plans to continue expanding its portfolio through the acquisition of assets and through management agreements in France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain and other European countries.

Latroupe has been awarded various awards “Hoscar” by Hostelworld, the hostel OTA biggest in the world. In the 2024 edition, Latroupe Grand Place and Latroupe Prado (Madrid) have received recognition for Best Hostel in Belgium, Most Popular Hostel in Brussels and Best New Hostel in Europerespectively.

Azora launched its venture capital fund for the hotel sector in 2021, Azora European Hotel & Lodging (AEHL), with a capital of 815 million euros. Since then, AEHL has invested in the resort hotel and city hotel segment in major European destinations with a value creation strategy based on asset transformation and active management of hotel operations.

Since 2011, Azora has acquired more than 100 hotels and 26.000 keys with a total investment of more than 3.000 billion euros.
