Balzola Polskacompany of Lantania Group, has begun the reform of the emblematic Defilad Square in Warsaw, which includes the creation of a Central Plaza inside. The City Council of the Polish capital has awarded Balzola for 11 million euros the construction of this Central Plaza that will be located in front of the Palace of Culture and Science, within the Defilad Square. This action is one of the key pieces in the development of the New Center of Warsaw, a plan that seeks to transform the heart of the city into a comfortable, accessible and green public space.

 

Balzola will build an area with more than 100 new trees, thousands of shrubs, grass and a pond composing a new green space in the heart of the capital. The company will create a meeting place for Warsaw residents that will also serve to organize cultural events. The total area to rebuild is approximately 20.000 square meters. The project also involves the planting of 4.000 meters of new grass, as well as more than 40 species of bulbs and perennials, with 11 species of shrubs and trees such as limes, ash, acacias and magnolias.

 

The works, which have already begun, are scheduled to last 14 months. The excavations carried out during the actions are carried out under strict archaeological supervision since valuable finds are expected to be found during the work in the center of Warsaw. Warsaw's Defilad (Parade) Square It is considered the fourth largest urban square in the world and the largest in the European Union. Built in the 50s, it was used by the government of the People's Republic of Poland for propaganda parades, hence its name. Over the years, the place has lost importance, becoming the location of a huge market.

 

Balzola is also working on other projects for the development of the new Warsaw Center. The company carries out the reconstruction of two tram crossings and carries out the redevelopment of Marszałkowska between the streets Królewska and Solidarity. Both contracts total an amount of 2,6 million euros.

New projects worth 30 million euros

 

Balzola has been awarded contracts worth 30 million euros in the first six months of this year. In addition to the three projects that he carries out in the Polish capital, the design and construction of 2,7 km of national road no.48 in Kozience for an amount of 8,8 million euros and the construction of a swimming pool in the city of Zuromin for 6,1 million euros. Bounce will build a full-size 25-meter-long, six-lane swimming pool. Next to it there will be a recreational pool and a children's pool, as well as a spa area. The facility will be able to accommodate 205 people at a time.

 

In addition, the Polish subsidiary of Lantania will carry out the reconstruction of the street Sienkiewicza in the city center of Lodz for 2,4 million euros. These works will have about 6.000 square meters of stone pavement for cars and pedestrians with all underground networks incorporating a new green area with trees and green areas.
