Bankia registers growth in credit to companies during the first quarter of the year

Presentation of results for the first quarter of 2019 

The entity has registered an increase of more than 6% in loans to companies, in relation to foreign trade, 15,3% more than the same period of the previous year.


During the first quarter of 2019 Bankia has obtained a net attributable profit of 205 million euros, a figure that represents a decrease of 10,8% compared to the same period of the previous year. During the presentation of the results corresponding to this period, executives of the entity have highlighted the evolution of the business and have indicated that this first quarter has been characterized by the boosting commercial activity and improving solvency.

 

“The truth is that these are very positive results and we are also very happy because together with these results we are leaving behind the integration with BMN” he pointed out José Ignacio Goirigolzarri, president of Bankia.

 

On the other hand, the entity has registered an increase of more than 6% in loans to companies, in relation to foreign trade 15,3% more than the same period of the previous year.

 

“We continue to maintain a very dynamic activity in everything that refers to the products most linked to currency, both in foreign trade, as well as in discounting and factoring and confirming” he stressed. José Sevilla, CEO of Bankia.

 

Directors of the entity have also expressed their satisfaction with the continuous growth in the number of clients, the client base has increased by more than 137 thousand people in the last twelve months.
