The event, which took place in Fira de Barcelona, attracted 1.266 wineries from 81 Denominations of Origin (DO) from all over Spain there are already nearly 25.700 professionals, 20% of them international.
For the first time in its five-year history, the BWW filled two halls, thus responding to the high demand and becoming the largest international trade platform for the Spanish wine sector. Over three days, nearly 360.000 glasses of wine were served, which gives an idea of the magnitude of the event. The most represented DOs were: Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Priorat and Cava, followed by other prominent wine regions.
The show facilitated more than 13.000 business meetings between exhibitors and a thousand major national buyers, in addition to 770 international importers key strategic countries. This success translates into an economic impact of around 17 million euros for the city of Barcelona.
"Once again, the show has demonstrated its enormous power to attract visitors, positioning itself as the best commercial platform for the main national and international operators in the sector through a unique trade fair concept," he stated. Javier Pages, president of BWW and the DO Cava.
In addition to the wine exhibition, the BWW offered a programme of activities with more than 70 experts, Masters of Wine, sommeliers and critics who analysed the challenges and trends of the sector in 150 tastings and presentations. Among the highlighted topics were the revaluation of old vines, adaptation to climate change and the rise of white wines.
The BWW 2025 was supported by important institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAP), ICEX Spain Export and Investment, the Catalan Tourism Agency, INCAVI-Prodeca, the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV), the Interprofessional Organisation of Wine in Spain (OIVE) and Cajamar.
The organisation is already looking ahead to the 2026 edition, which will maintain the two-hall format and will be held from 2 to 4 February. Barcelona Wine Week thus continues its path as an essential reference in the world of wine, propelling the Spanish sector to new levels of international success.
