Best Western announces new projects for 2017, in line with its international expansion

The company currently has 239 locations in operation around the world and another 224 in North America, 60% of which are new construction.

 

“This is evidence that Best Western “It continues to have exceptional value for our owners and promoters around the world, as we have seen in our brand projects that continue to grow,” he stated. The revolutionary new “white label” model is powered by Best Western and offers easy conversions to one of the 3 brands of SureStay- SureStay, Surestay PLUS and Surestay Signature Collection.

 

“We have received strong momentum at the beginning of the process with 30 hotels SureStay approved and we hope to have 100 open by the end of 2017,” he said Ron Pohl, vice president and COO of Best Western® Hotels & Resorts. “SureStay has been a welcome addition and adds to our company's strong portfolio. In total in 2016, Best Western has opened nearly 100 hotels in North America and 102 in the rest of the world. The company's portfolio today has more than 4.200 hotels in 100 countries.

 

This growth of the chain internationally will also be reflected in Spain and Portugal, where an expansion with 30 new hotels has been announced in the next five years. Currently, the chain has five accommodations in  Spain: Three in Barcelonaone in Madrid and another Salobrena-Granada; and has two more in Portugal: located on Lighthouse and Porto. This would represent a growth of 400%.

 

“We are convinced that we will exceed growth expectations,” says the Director of Development and Operations for Spain & Portugal, Oriol Maresch. “Spain & Portugal represent a key market for Best Western because they are two tourist destinations par excellence. Hence, we have decided to put all our efforts into strengthening these markets,” he added.
