The American manufacturer and Extenda are organizing the 1st Boeing Spanish Suppliers Meeting in Seattle, with the collaboration of the Spanish Embassy.
Boeing and Ministry of Economy and Knowledgethrough Extenda-Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency, started in Seattle the two days of the I Meeting of Spanish Boeing Suppliers, in which twenty companies belonging to the Cluster Andalusian aerospace that are part of the trade mission organized by extend a to Canada y United States, including the three Tier 1 aerostructures of Spain, Alestis, Aernnova and Aciturri.
The vice president of Boeing Commercial Aviation Division Strategy, Sheila Remes; the CEO of Extenda, Vanessa Bernad, and the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Spain in the United States, Elisa García, were responsible for opening the event. During the event, Andalusian companies were able to learn about the North American company's purchasing processes and supply chain dynamics, directly from the Vice President of Boeing Supply Chain Strategy, Bob Noble.
In addition, the three Tier 1 aerostructures of Spain, with presence in Andalusia, Alestis, Aernnova and Aciturri, starred in a round table discussion, along with Boeing and Extenda, entitled 'Building Competitive Strength', in which these collaborating companies of Boeing In various programs, they shared their experience in the operation of the supply chain, highlighting the level of projects undertaken by the Andalusian and Spanish industry in general.
Equally, Helix Cluster had the opportunity, through its general manager, Arturo de Vicente, to present the capabilities of the Andalusian Aerospace Cluster, especially its auxiliary industry.
In addition to these three companies and Helix Cluster, In trade mission 10 other companies based in Seville: Elimco Aerospace; Elimco UAS; Potez Aeronáutica Ibérica; Sofiteccomposites; Inespasa; Canagrosa; Atis Ibérica; UMI Aeronáutica; Solar Mems Technologies; Airgrup; Consur and Cesa. There are also four companies based in CadizCarbures Aerospace & Defense; Mave Aeronáutica; Saes and Titania; and Malaga-based Mades.
In total, up to 34 companies from the Cluster Andalusian companies participate in various Boeing projects, in the 737, 747, 777 and 787, which generate an annual turnover of 51,7 million euros.
2016 was a great year for Andalusian aeronautical exports to the United States, which doubled (+114%) compared to 2015, reaching 42 million euros.
Throughout the day, dozens of B2B meetings also took place between the heads of the Andalusian companies participating in the trade mission and senior Boeing executives., to analyze the capabilities and possibilities of cooperation in projects of the North American manufacturer.
La direct trade mission, started on the 23rd in to Canada, with the presence of the Minister of Economy and Knowledge, Antonio Ramirez de Arellano, and which ends tomorrow in Seattle, is 80% co-financed with funds from the European Union, charged to FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2014-2020.
