Welcome to our newsletter on Spain's foreign business. Today, December 20, 2024, we bring you the main news from the foreign sector.

We begin with a key fact: Spanish exports reached an all-time high in October, with a year-on-year increase of 9,3%. A total of 35.280 billion euros in exported goods, which contributes to reducing the trade deficit.

As regards regional exports, Aragon has registered a fall of 3,3%, while Andalusia leads the growth with an increase of 5,8%. The Valencian Community grows by 3,8% and Castilla-La Mancha reaches a historic record in exports.

Meanwhile, Pantoja Grupo Logístico is strengthening its presence in Portugal with the opening of a 5.500 square metre logistics centre in Lisbon, consolidating its operational network in the Iberian Peninsula.

Kreios Space, for its part, is promoting the internationalisation of the Galician aerospace sector, with the support of the Xunta de Galicia to diversify and expand the industry globally.

In Saudi Arabia, Ayesa Ingeniería will oversee the construction of an innovative stadium in Al Khobar, which will host events such as the Asian and World Cups.

Navantia UK is also in negotiations to acquire Harland & Wolff’s operations in Northern Ireland, Scotland and England, securing the Fleet Solid Support shipbuilding programme for the Royal Navy.

BasqueTrade analyses the impact of Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential elections, focusing on possible tariff and tax changes that will affect internationalised Basque companies.

In the awards arena, Salto Systems received the DHL Atlas Grand Prize for Exports at the 9th Edition of the awards, an event that highlights the ability of Spanish companies to promote the Spain Brand internationally.

Finally, the European Commission predicts an increase in imports and a decrease in exports of fruit and vegetables within the EU by 2035, with the exception of apples.

We conclude with the Madrid Chamber of Commerce's programme for foreign trade technicians, which has awarded diplomas to 24 technicians who will promote the internationalisation of Madrid and foster youth employment in the region.
