The ambassador stressed that “the relationship between Spain and Brazil is not going to be a fad that will pass. The agreement with Mercosur will soon be signed and we have also made great progress in energy, infrastructure, water treatment and health. What counts is the strength of Spanish companies in Brazil, with an investment of 900.000 billion euros.”

Nicolas Mouze, Marketing and Sales Director at DHL Express Iberia opened the presentations by emphasising that Brazil is a highly attractive destination for Spanish companies due to its economic potential, consumer market and the investments being made in infrastructure. According to Mouze: “Spanish exports to Brazil accounted for 1,3% of the total in 2014 and more than 6.237 Spanish companies exported to this destination last year, according to ICEX data.”

In this context, DHL Express is playing an important role thanks to its knowledge, experience and international network, since the country's customs barriers are high and administrative procedures are complex, so exporting to Brazil requires thorough preparation and a cost study.

Mr. Paulo C. de Oliveira CamposRegarding the economic and political situation in Brazil, he highlighted the cycle of strong growth that it has experienced in recent times, followed by a period of slowdown, although the trend is towards growth.
