Spanish companies will increase their investments in the region

12th edition of the report 'Panorama of Spanish Investment in Latin America' prepared by IE Business School in collaboration with Llorente & Cuenca, Iberia and Casa América.


76% percent of Spanish companies with activity in Latin America will increase their investment in the region in 2019, in the specific case of the SMEs 68%, as revealed by the 12th edition of the Report 'Overview of Spanish Investment in Latin America' whose data indicate that the destinations of greatest interest are “Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Brazil”, that is, except in the case of Brazil, the priority focuses on “the countries of the Pacific alliance, partly because they have markets of an acceptable size and a fairly open economy,” he explained. The report prepared by IE Business School In collaboration with Llorente & Cuenca, Iberia and Casa América, reflects that 87% percent of those consulted consider a trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur. He also points out that as the main center of operations, Spanish businessmen choose to Mexico, Miami or Bogotá. 

 

The consultation carried out with 106 companies between September and December 2018 reflects that for 2019, and as has been happening in recent years, Venezuela It will be the only country in the region where Spanish companies are considering reducing their investment.
